OrthoVault’s digital orthodontic study models are easy access at anytime through the online portal. By keeping your files online you can free up valuable office space and never have to worry about buying storage boxes or cabinets again. In addition, OrthoVault digital study models arrive in less time and cost less than plaster models.
You can send us upper and lower traditional impressions (PVS material is preferred), poured stone models or digital impressions files (.STL format) along with your completed prescription. We also ask that you include a bite registration with your case to ensure accuracy. To download a PDF prescription form, click here.
Any type of Alginate or PVS material can be used. If alginate is used we prefer that it be poured in stone at your office to avoid distortion from shrinkage during shipping.
Disposable impression trays are recommended; metal trays will be returned, however you will incur a return shipping fee.
You can view your study models with the free OrthoViewer software. This software is available for download from the online portal when you log into view your study models.

Windows Operating System and a High Speed Internet Connnection
OrthoViewer is a simple but effective software program for viewing orthodontic study models. Models can be viewed in all standard views, in occlusion and open and point-to-point measurements can be performed.
Your OrthoVault digital study model file will be ready to download within 5 business days after the case is received in our lab.
You will receive an email notification to let you know your files are available.
Yes, once the model is scanned we clean up the digital model file by filling in any voids and removing bubbles.

Yes. Physical stone models can be completed at any time after the digital models have been completed. Because these are two separate processes the turnaround time on this type of case may be longer. Please contact us for details.
Yes, we have the ability to print a durable resin model on our state-of-the-art 3D printer or use the file to create a traditional stone model.
Yes. We can use your digital study model file to fabricate appliances.
